I am delighted to launch the new website of the Metropolitan Sikh Police Association (MPSA). On becoming Commissioner I have set out to all my staff what I expect of them. I want them to deliver on the Policing Pledge and make sure we have a public who are confident they have our support – that we are on their side. To achieve this we will have to have Presence by being visible in securing our streets and open spaces; we will have to Perform by continuing to reduce crime; and we will have to be Productive - getting more done with less tax payer’s money. Above all we will have to be Professional in everything we do and take Pride in ourselves and the organisation that we work for. The MPSA has been working hard to assist in delivering these aims, and it is right that we recognise their significant achievements during this financial year as they delivered a number of creative projects both locally and internationally. This new website highlights all their accomplishments - furthering our understanding of community concerns and how they affect the Sikh community both in the UK and abroad.
More work remains to be done to improve the confidence of our communities and our staff. The work of the MPSA will continue to be an important part of that process. This website will be invaluable to the MPS, MPSA but most importantly to victim and witnesses of crime.
